Speaking at ASU GSV 2024!
We recently attended our first ASU GSV Summit which was a truly phenomenal experience! We heard from so many brilliant educators and founders of big and small companies. Meeting with many folks from across the country and starting new relationships was inspiring.
Killer Snails Co-Founder and CEO Jessica Ochoa Hendrix spoke at the prestigious 2024 ASU GSV Summit, a leading event for education technology and innovation. Her talk, "Government Funding to Validate Your Edtech Idea: Learn about the SBIR Program," highlighted the significant opportunities offered by the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. With an annual budget of $4 billion, the SBIR program provides up to $2.075 million in non-dilutive funding awards to support the development and evaluation of groundbreaking products, including new education technologies.
Jessica's presentation focused on how edtech entrepreneurs can leverage SBIR funding to bring their innovative ideas to life. She shared insights on the application process, success stories, and practical tips for securing this vital support. Her expertise and passion for fostering innovation in education technology resonated with the audience, providing valuable guidance for aspiring edtech developers.
Jessica was awarded a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Proximate Social Entrepreneurs Scholarship which covered the full cost of the ASU-GSV Conference. The thoughtful and well-organized program included meeting many incredibly talented people. This honor underscores her commitment to driving social impact through innovative educational solutions. The summit provided a platform to network with fellow educators, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders, further advancing Killer Snails' mission to revolutionize science education. ASU-GSV was an amazingly inspirational event and we hope to be invited back next year!
